I just want to generate leads. I don’t need to market my business right now?
While a sales call will break the ice, marketing your business is often what completes the sale. It is the small things you do every day that in the end have our new prospect buy from you. How does your web site look? how do you answer the telephone? how do you present yourself on and off line? Does the collateral look professional. Is the product offering easy to understand. Examining the marketing  of your business in all aspects in a planned and disciplined way combined with sales campaigns will grow your business and realise its potential.

But we are located in out of Auckland? Can the The Connector still be my outsourced sales and marketing partner?
Definitely . Even with our Auckland clients we work with you by telephone, use Skype, email and web based cloud software to work collaboratively with minimal  meetings. Although we very much like getting together face to face too and will make every effort to meet up personally when we’re in your area and we hope you would do the same.For some clients we do work on site.
Does outsourcing my marketing to The Connector mean that I have to use your suppliers?- e.g graphic design, web design, web development? The simple answer is no. We have worked with many graphic and web designers. If you do not have suppliers you like and trust we are keen to put you in touch with our Connectors
Marketing is expensive and will it bring in results?  I need to be able to budget my marketing spend. If you are in business you have to market yourself. Even word of mouth only goes so far if your marketing is amateur and unprofessional. With the many new tools available marketing doesn’t have to be expensive. We offer various forms of payment including a monthly retainer for easy budgeting, pay-as-you-go for ad hoc services and fixed price for capped hours. We’re also happy to provide cost estimates prior to work being undertaken. The key is that the marketing fits into a larger strategy,is planned and that is part of a achievable realistic goals.

I’ve had business and marketing plans developed before but implementing is a problem. Can The Connector help with this?
Of course. We often will take existing plans and then use this as the basis of a new one. We then prioritise the work so we systematically deliver marketing to your prospects and exisiting customers. We can work on your brand, develop brochures,  standard letters, emails, website copy, write sales scripts for your staff, help you use your database, develop your promotional campaigns, manage your publicity, develop your expo stand, PR or whatever is right to effectively market your business.

How can you market my business when you don’t work in my industry?
You are the specialist and know about your industry. Frequently we bring some knowledge and experience of your sector as a marketer and also as a customer. I have never done any marketing, where do I start with marketing?

We will look closely at your competitors and th market leaders assessing the strengths and weaknesses of others strategy. From there decide what you will do to market your business moving forward.

Why can’t I just put a few ads in the paper or on the radio?
Marketing is not just an advert in the paper or on the radio. Often we find that these traditional avenues are expensive, not meaurable and not targetted. With The Connector we’ll assist to achieve results with the resources and budget that you have.

How do I know my marketing efforts are working?
Thanks to development in the online sphere, marketing is now a more specific, measurable activity and is easy to monitor your efforts to ensure they are effective. Successful marketing requires setting goals, getting into acton, and then assessing the results to make sure your marketing activities are effective. Why the name The Connector?
The Connector was chosen as the Laurel McLay and Suzanne Kendrick are both natural Connectors.We can’t help ourselves but to link you up with the people you need to grow your business. The writer Malcolm Gladwell does a test to see if you are Connector – not suprisingly we passed this with flying colours!
